FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Tropical Storm Danny makes landfall north of Hilton Head Island
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Tropical Storm Danny continues producing showers and thunderstorms across the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire.
Tropical Storm Danny has officially made landfall north of Hilton Head on Pritchards Island, South Carolina.
Danny’s max sustained wind has weakened to 40 miles per hour as it moves west-northwest at about 16 miles per hour.
Heavy rain is still moving through the Lowcountry, with widespread 1″ - 3″ of rain estimated across portions of Jasper, Beaufort, Chatham and Effingham Counties.
Localized amounts over 4″ of rain have been estimated on radar near the Savannah River and Lowcountry.
The forecast dries out from east, to west, tonight as lower pressure passes inland. Wrap around showers will linger tonight into the early morning hours.
