New Chick-fil-A, preschool one step closer to approval in Pooler
POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Pooler is now one step closer to getting a new Chick-Fil-A and a new preschool.
The Planning and Zoning Committee recommended their approval on both after taking traffic into consideration.
The pre-school, a Primrose school, is for infants to 5-year-old children. These schools act as a daycare and a place to teach children before they head to elementary school.
Planning and zoning members were initially hesitant out of concern of increased traffic. But they recommended approval to the idea after hearing the school would have staggered drop-off times to address the issue.
They also recommended approval for a new Chick Fil A location in hopes of drawing traffic away from the current one.
“Well, I think the big things people are looking forward to Chick-fil-A and they want to know when they’re going to start construction and when they’re going to finish, and their engineer gave us that information today. They’re going to start soon and they’ll probably finish in six months,” Pooler Mayor Rebecca Benton said.
Both these projects will now go before Pooler City Council at a future meeting. If approved, construction for Chick-fil-a will start in November.
