SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE - Savannah Police responded to an incident at St. Joseph’s hospital late Friday night.

According to the police report, a man that had mixed alcohol and drugs thought somebody was chasing him, and he ran into the hospital for safety.

The report says he had a gun on him and another in his vehicle. A spokesperson for the hospital said no shots were fired and no one was hurt.

As police were talking to the man, things got confusing and an active shooter alert went off in the hospital. Officers searched the building just to be safe and did not find anything dangerous and said there was never an actual threat, according to the report.
